Today was such a BIG day for our little bubs Violet! (That's what I call her too sometimes - I told Mummy I wanted to go pick up my little bubs from daycare when Mummy picked me up today, ha ha) The reason she is sitting and smiling and being oh so happy and proud of herself above? Today, Violet finally walked on her very own!!! It all started 2 days ago, on Sunday, when Daddy and I decided to put some Cheerios on the couch in the front room, and then another pile of Cheerios on the leather bench that was just one step away. We managed to get Violet to walk back and forth between the piles of Cheerios ---- she only had to really let go for half a second to get to either side, but it must have started something! Then tonight, I'll set the scene for the BIG moment. We had "She'll Be Coming Round The Mountain" playing on the computer, and Mummy was half-asleep on the couch as she's been working to midnight the last few nights! But Vila was liking the music and was bobbing up and down a bit while standing next to Mummy on the couch......and then Daddy came in and started doing a little dance with her, to get Violet even more excited. Then he called out to Violet to "come over, come over and see Daddy".......and she DID!! She took a few steps over to him, and then that was it.....she started walking back and forth to me, Mummy and Daddy. Once she saw how excited we all were, she wanted to do it again and again. And she was very good - since she's been walking a lot holding our hands, she really was able to walk quite well once she knew she could! She even did a couple of slow steps and changed directions a couple times, not just the walking and falling into someone's arms. So Violet, we are soooo proud of you! See how happy I am too?!!

So it's official - on October 4, 2011, at approximately 655pm, at the age of 19 months and 27 days, you walked on your own!!! Congrats, welcome to a whole new world little bubs!!!!! Love you lots and lots and lots, Audrey, Mummy & Daddy xoxoxo
