More Fun Time in Ottawa!

We had so many moments on our weekend in Ottawa, that here is our THIRD posting......more pics of the good times below!

Me and Vila, enjoying some couch time looking out the window (notice how I am more contemplative, and she is the boisterous one??? signs of our true nature I think!)
Vila also enjoyed playing in her exersaucer, happily eating her cheerios..... While I did more "big girl" stuff, like getting my fingernails painted for the first time this weekend - pretty in pink!
The adults had fun time this weekend too! Here's my parents and our Chachu, Chachi, Auntie and Uncle having the BEST chinese food and egg rolls at Golden Palace - mmmmm! They also spent some time at the downtown market, having a beer (cheers to Boddington's on tap!)
And here are the ladies on the frozen canal, walking on water at Winterlude!

Finally, we'll end with some more family pics. We had a lot of those this weekend! Here's the chaos of trying to get a pic with our cousins Dylan and Tyler and Auntie Lou.....I was sleeping, and Vi was NOT happy to have a picture session!
Grandma and I snuggled with Jackson..... And we had to get a "three generations" picture of Daddy, Grandpa and me and Vila! Phew - that was a lot of fun and a lot of pics! Great way to spend a family day weekend with so much family! See you later everyone - Love to all, Audrey & Violet xoxo

Slice of Life - Breakfast with Grandpa!

Mummy calls this our "slice of life" pic......eating breakfast with Grandpa one morning this past weekend. And one of our inside jokes is to tell Grandpa "Don't make a mess!" Ha ha Grandpa! We took a little video too. Here's to many more breakfasts, and many more messes, with you Grandpa! Love Audrey & Violet xoxo

Family Day Weekend in Ottawa - Meeting Jackson!

Wow, what a weekend! We all drove up to Ottawa to visit Grandma and Grandpa, and to meet our cousin Jackson for the first time! And he brought Anil Chachu, Steph Chachi, Auntie Wendy and Uncle Matt too!!! We had SUCH a good time with our family being together. Can you believe we got this great picture of all of us together?

Violet and I had some great times with our new little cousin Jackson - here I am tickling him in his chair (he has such a cute smile!), and also rocking him in his chair one morning.
And here is Violet keeping him entertained too - she liked to help him pull on the toys!
And later on, I enjoyed some tummy time with Jackson!

Jackson seemed to like me a lot too - he grabbed my shirt, and even took my thumb to suck on too - silly Jackson!

As for Vila, she sometimes just wanted to play with her new friend she met hanging at the sofa!

Finally, check me out in the videos below, singing to Jackson and chatting with him - we made a great bond this weekend, and it's going to be so fun to grow up with him! Mummy even said we're going down to Atlanta later this year to hang with him and the rest of his family.....y'all, we can't wait for that!

More pics on our family day weekend coming up! Stay tuned.....Love Audrey & Violet

Valentine's Day 2011 - a bust!

On Valentine's Day this year, it started okay.....I was even clowning around a bit at night in the kitchen (below)! But then we got sick! Daddy and I had stomach flu (yucky....Mummy had to change the sheets 3 times that night!) We had ordered the heart-shaped pizzas earlier in the evening - see above - but since me and Daddy didn't eat any, we had LOTS left over! Oh well, we have enough love for the whole year, not just Valentine's. And I bet Daddy will pull out all the stops next year! And the good news is, we all felt better the next morning, phew! Love to everyone, Audrey xox

The Official Birthday Pics!

Violet officially turned 1 on Monday Feb 7th, so we had to take a picture - here she is! She's wearing her new violet sweater that Nanny knit for her (thanks Nanny!). Happy 365 days old Violet!

And then, just 3 days later, Mummy had her birthday on Thursday Feb 10! I sang her Happy Birthday, and told her "shhh, I made you a card" and "shhh, it's in the Elmo book" when she came home from work (it was my secret with Daddy, but somehow I still told Mummy!) I'm holding the card below, it was full of my colourful scribbles!!
She had a great day and got some great presents! Daddy got her a brand-new Canada Goose jacket, the warmest jacket ever - Mummy LOVED it!
And she also got spoiled by Nanny and Gramps with perfume, a Coach makeup bag, books, and a "wardrobe" from Grandma and Grandpa ($ to go shopping at her favourite stores!) And at work, the girls made her "Tiffany" cake balls dipped in blue chocolate with silver sprinkles! I was most excited about those - see us eating them together below?
That night, Daddy took Mummy out for dinner to a fancy restaurant called Kultura, and they had a delish meal (naan, samosas, salmon, grilled flatiron steak, cream brule, & dough-nut holes!)......it was one of Mummy's best birthdays ever! And she got to go out again last night and have drinks with the girls - lucky Mummy!

That's all from here for now ----- talk again soon, and happy birthday again to my sis and my Mummy!! xoxox Audrey

Happy First Birthday Violet!!!!!!!

Today was our BIG party for Violet! Our little Vila is almost 1 year old (officially, tomorrow at 1:19am!) Nanny and Gramps, Holly and Guy, and Grandma and Grandpa helped us celebrate today. The fun began after our naps......we got dressed in our outfits, and came downstairs to play a while......here's Violet enjoying her toys and smiling. THIS is our Vila!

Once everyone arrived, we had present time! I got a Dora balloon from Nanny and Gramps - I had fun pulling her around the house and making her go up and down!
And I LOVE present time, so I helped Violet as much as I could. See us below opening her gift from Mummy and Daddy? It was a Leap Frog Learning Table - and the best part is I can play with it too!

Nanny and Gramps gave Vila a beautiful handknit violet sweater (how appropriate!), and Aunt Holly have Violet a handmade stuffy number 1/giraffe toy! How nice to have such crafty and talented family.

Plus Guy gave her a Kinder egg ---- with a superman inside! I really liked that one too. And Grandma and Grandpa gave us some pretty pink bags with books and toys and a necklace for me - I love my jewellry! Here's Grandma giving Violet some birthday love....awww!
Dinnertime was Mummy's homemade baked ziti and chicken fingers - specially for me and Violet. We loved it - see Violet's face?? She definitely enjoyed it!
Dessert time was my favourite time - we finally got to have the chocolate cake I'd been talking about all weekend long! Here is the cake Mummy made - mmmmm, delish!

Sort of healthy too - apparently it has soy milk and prunes and whole wheat flour in it.....whatever it is made of, we all enjoyed it! See my cake face and clean plate......yummy yummy in my tummy as Gramps would say! Vila seemed to like it also - her first taste of cake, but I don't think it will be her last!

Finally, Mummy almost forgot to play the photo-montage of Violet's first year, but I loved watching it with her and Grandma and Grandpa (everyone else had just left!) It will be in her time capsule, along with her CD of songs, her diary list, and letters from the family.....18 years to re-open, that will be fun to see!

After such a fun afternoon of presents, pasta and cake, we were pooped for bedtime......so nighty nite everyone and enjoy the videos below of our dinnertime fun. See you tomorrow! And Happy Birthday again to my sister Violet - we all love you so much, you have made our family complete and it's been such an incredible year with many more to come. Big kisses and hugs to you Violet from everyone and especially your big sis, Audrey xoxoxoxo

Raise Your Glass!

I have a new favourite song!!

Violet's First Birthday Photo Shoot - OUTTAKES!

We went to Sears today for Violet's photo shoot ---- and we managed to get some good pics! Plus, Violet and I got to waer our new tutus that Mummy bought for us!!!! But it wasn't all fun and games, it was quite the effort to make sure we were happy and smily when the cameras turned on! Thank goodness Grandma and Grandpa were there to help out - see Violet hanging out with them above? And gazing adoringly at her new favourite person (Grandma) in this photo.
Once the camera was turned on, I was acutally quite the supermodel poser, and Violet even had a few laughs! The hardest part was waiting to see the pics and then Mummy had to pick the package and photos to order - it took over an hour, so Violet and I were getting quite fussy by the time we were ready to go. Luckily, we were in the Eaton Centre, so a trip to Mr Green Jeans was a good idea for dinner...yummy grilled cheese and french fries for us!

Here are some more outtakes from our day today --- and in a few weeks, we'll get to pick up the package, there are some AMAZING photos for everyone to see!
For now, nighty-nite, as we need to get our beauty sleep for Violet's birthday tomorrow - wow, can you believe my little sister is 1 year old tomorrow??!! It's going to be a great day! Love Audrey & soon-to-be 1 year old Violet xoxoxoxo

Vila's First Haircut!!!

Today, Saturday Feb. 5th 2011, Violet had her first haircut! Mummy set her up in the Bumbo chair (she JUST fit into it, her legs were popping out of the top!) and snip-snip-snip, she got a nice trim! There was WAY more hair to chop off then when I had my first hair cut - Violet's hair is darker and thicker than mine was, she's got more of Daddy's hair type.......and she was a little more wiggly too so it was challenging for Mummy! but we got it done and then we were ready to go to our photo shoot for Vila's first birthday....stay tuned for more outtakes of that! Love Audrey & Violet xoxo

Mummy's First Day of Work!

Mummy went back to work this past week on Monday (January 31st) - so we're off to a new schedule here at home! Here we are, ready to go to homecare to Erin's house, and Mummy all ready to go to work - we did pretty well, all ready to get out of the house by 745am! And Mummy had her "a" and "v" necklace on, so we're close to her heart all day while she's working!

Have fun at work Mummy and we can't wait to see you when you get home for family dinners with Daddy too! Lots of love, Audrey & Violet xoxox
