Happy Anniversary Mummy & Daddy!

Mummy and Daddy had their 6-year wedding anniverary this weekend! So Nanny and Gramps and Holly came over to take care of me and Violet, while Mummy and Daddy got away for a 24-hour day of bliss (Mummy's words!) at Blue Mountain. It was a beautiful sunny weekend, and Daddy started everything off right with roses and champagne in the room on arrival! The picture up top shows them off. The resort was gorgeous, shops, restaurants and a sunny square right in front of the mountains.....picture perfect and everything you need within walking distance. After a trip to a spa for a massage and dipping in the hot/cold scandinavian baths, Mummy and Daddy had a nice dinner out, then slept in, and toured the square the next morning (they had to go to the toy store to buy us a present!) There's Mummy, up early in the square.....well, not early for them (it was 10am!), but the rest of the square was asleep....no people out yet! Soon enough, the restaurants opened for brunch, and after a great breakfast, there was one more treat. The Ridge Runner!!!!! It's like a single-cart roller coaster down the mountain and it was steep and exciting, and AMAZING....Mummy screamed all the way down, and Daddy was all smiles when he reached the botoom. What a way to end the trip! Then it was back home to see us in Toronto (and relieve Nanny and Gramps - I didn't let them sleep much the night before!) Happy 6 years Mummy & Daddy - here's to many more, we love you too! Audrey & Violet xoxoxo

How To Fly A Kite And Slide A Slide!

We had a great morning at the park this past weekend. Violet and I put on a little "how-to" show! I was a super star at flying my kite, all by myself!! And Violet showed off her rather unique slide technique......style points 10, speed points 2 (ha ha, but we love it Violet.....a style as unique as you are....and you still get down the slide faster than me most of the time!) A beautiful September morning with park fun with Mummy & Daddy, what could be better than that? Hope you all had a sunny fun Sunday as well! Love Audrey & Violet xoxo

Sisters!

Vila and I have a lot of fun together ---- it's fun to have a sister! Above, you'll see pics of me sharing snack with Violet at our local park....and then below, laughing and giving her my patented "sideways" eyes! I'm such a jokester. And check out more of our sisterly love over the past few weeks. Many more years of sister fun together I'm sure....and who knows, will Violet end up being the "big sister"? She looks almost as big as me in some of these pics! I'll always be showing her the ropes as we grow up though, remember that Violet! Love you Violet (.....Violet says: "wuv you Audi!") xoxo Audrey & Violet

Happy 19 Months Vila!

Wow, Vilee, you are 19 months old! You are getting so big and doing so much.....for example, you are practically running holding Mummy or Daddy's finger (but you just won't give that little bit of security up yet!) She plops down on her bum-bum anytime we try to get her to walk on her own - but soon, Vila, soon you'll be running on your own! And your talking is getting so good - you can say lots of things now and you mimic us a lot. She says the name of her friends at homecare ("Ma-Moe", "Wesley", "Emma") and just like me, she says "wa-wa" for doggies when she sees them. Plus of course she can say Mummy, Daddy, Audi, more, no, and so many more words. And she loves to eat with her own fork or spoon now ---- she'll wave her arms to say "no Mummy" if she doesn't want help (very "ms. independent" - kind of like me, and how Mummy was growing up!) We even think she is trying to tell us about her potty time too - she'll say "pee pee" now when she wants her diaper changed (way to go Vila, that's very "big-girl" of you!)
Violet, we love you lots, keep growing and keep being your silly, fun-loving, big-baby self! Hugs and kisses....and how about a few tickles? (tickle monster Daddy video below!) xoxo Audrey

A Gaggle of Girls!

With the Goldthorpe Gals of course! They stopped by for a quick visit on Sunday on their way home to NYC - great to meet Emily and see Amy and Elizabeth again! Yay for GIRLS! xoxo your girlfriends, Audrey & Violet xoxo

The Best Neighbourhood!

We got back from our cottage vacation....and then the very next day, our neighbours already had us as official bbq'ers for the first annual Labour Day Normandy Street party! We have SUCH a fun street with great neighbours and friends. This was not your "standard" street party either....Jeff and Stacey rented loud speakers with a DJ system, Tim and Stacy made "washer toss", bought ladder ball, and rented a bouncy castle, and Isabelle and Matt helped organize all the food. And EVERYONE was part of the games tournament! The most fun for me was probably the bouncy castle....for the first time ever, I actually went in and bounched around! Check out my video below, and then one more below that Mummy took of the festivities. Good thing they didn't video later when Mummy and her girlfriends karoke'd "Don't Stop Believin", ha ha! Fun times on Normandy, they never stop! xoxo Audrey & Violet

Here For A Good Time, Not A Long Time....

Alas, our cottage vacation had to end at some point! Here's some last random pics from our awesome week with the Daleys. Perhaps an annual tradition? Who knows, but for now, we can say it was a wonderful week full of sun, beach, water, bbqs, dancing (bust-a-move after dinner was a favourite!), running & chasing (video below!), smores, sunsets and great memories! Thanks Daleys for a great time. We love cottaging! xoxo Audrey & Violet

Vila got some good walking practice on the beach....Beauty Shot, Mummy loved to pose me for pics! One of crazy Vila's favourite hiding spots - under the table, with monky in her mouth, she was happy as can be to screech, squeal and surprise you! Nail Salon Morning - multi-colour is the only way to go! Kung Fu Panda Tshirt Night!A couple more beach shots since we played here a lot!

S'Mores, Brownies & Sunsets!

At the end of a long day of cottage vacationing, what could be more delicious than a campfire and some S'MORES?! It's a new thing that Violet and I discovered and we LOVE it! Graham crackers, melty marshmallows, and gooey chocolate....mmmmm! Yes, that is a double-decker marshmallow smore above; Steve-o made it his special concoction, and then he made a TRIPLE decker smore, a personal challenge for my Mummy and Daddy to eat it (they did!) Here are us kids, waiting for our smores.....who wants smores, raise your hands and smile!!!! And then it was time to get down to eating these amazing desserts!!!! MMM, Emma and I put all our concentration into it. But Vila was kinda just happy with a graham cracker, plain! Good for you Vila! On our last night there, Mummy made yummy chewy brownies, another fave with us kids. Here's the moms and babes at the table at sunset (pretty light, eh?) gobbling up our brownies....Vila was taking the picture (ha ha!). And look at my sweet "Mummy can I have a brownie/smore?" face - who could refuse, right? After our desserts, we watched the sunsets some nights - they were really pretty, and we liked saying good night to Mr Sun. That's all for this post - still a few more cottage memories to share in our next post, so stay tuned! Love Audrey & Violet (aka smore monsters!)

Cottage Out & About!

Although the beach and water were playgrounds in themselves for me and Violet, we did enjoy going into town to a couple of kiddie playgrounds during our vacation! First, as always, we need to make sure we have snacks to re-charge - hence Vi and I hanging out and snacking above! Then check me out with my new best friend, Mr Alligator!!! I loved walking across his back too. Vila preferred the cars, just like she does at home with our toys. I also crawled through a tube, and was quite proud of myself! Vila decided she wanted to play in the splash pad too - who needs a swimsuit?! As for Daddy, he decided to get a workout in, doing chin-ups on the bars! After all that hard work playing, we of course had to have lunch!! Emma and I became fast friends on our vacation, so loved sitting beside each other at lunch. And Violet and Max enjoyed our wagon on another lunch - just like two little Buddhas, aren't they?! We had such a good time hanging out together, that of course we held hands whenever we had to go anywhere....here we are, hands held firm, on our way back to the car after lunch one day! Great times out & about at the cottage! xoxo Audrey & Vila

Cottage Vacation Beach Babies!

Ya-hoo, what a week we just had! All four of us went to a beach-side cottage vacation in Grand Bend with our friends, the Daleys. Emma (age 4) and Max (age 2) are great playmates, and Mummy, Daddy, Irene and Steve seemed to be great playmates together too! Our cottage had it's own beachfront, so we got to spend lots of time playing along the shore, collecting rocks, bucketing water, walking, wading, digging, and sand-castle building. Check out just a few our our beach babies pics and videos, we loved our sunny vacay with our friends! More pics to come so keep watching our posts too! xoxox Audrey & Violet

And here's me and Vila in the sand, in video!
