Staycation!!!! The First Weekend!

Erin closed her daycare for a week so Violet and I got to have a "staycation" with Mummy and Daddy! For the start to our week of fun, we had a weekend filled with sun, fun, and Nanny, Gramps, Holly & Guy! On Saturday, Mummy and Daddy took me and Violet down to the beach for a walk on the boardwalk. It was super sunny and a gorgeous day, so I ran down the boardwalk beside the wagon, being cute! And Violet was content to just sit in the wagon and lounge, lying back in the wagon gazing at the water. Ahh, relaxation! On Sunday, we went to visit Nanny and Gramps in Burlington and they really helped us get into "staycation" mode. We all put on our swimsuits and headed into the garden, where Gramps had set up a canopy, a sprinkler and a baby pool! Mummy and Daddy started off with an icy cool beer and big smiles (Mummy even got to swing in the hammock set up by Gramps). Meanwhile, Vila and I played with Nanny while in the cool baby pool with all our toys! Holly and Guy arrived in the afternoon and we went down to the pebble beach. Guy and Holly went wading together, but me and Vila stayed on the beach, it was too pebbly for our soft little feet! However, there was a nice playground nearby so we went crazy on that! Vila got to sit on a crazy froggy-like character with Mummy. Meanwhile, I ran all over, up and down the ramps, having tons of fun while Daddy kept chase after me! Then it was time to go back to Nanny/Gramp's place for a bbq dinner and bedtime. The next morning we hit the Golden Griddle for pancakes!!!!!!! MMMMMM! I love pancakes! And the best part is that the nice waitress gave us treats from the tickle trunk at the end - we both got little police cars to play with. It was so hot after brekkie, that we decided to hit the mall and run around......and Vila sat in one of the play planes, she loved turning the wheel and banging her head on it (fyi, Vila has a hard head, she's often hitting it against her crib mattress at night too.....funny but true! It comforts her I guess....silly Violet!) What a great way to start our staycation! Up next - Centreville.....stay tuned for more! xoxo Audrey & Violet
