Happy 17 Months Violet!

Yippee for 17 months Vila - aren't you cute with your big toothy pudgy smile!! Another month has passed and Violet is THAT much older and learning more and more new things!

She is getting really close to walking - as proven by a few things she's really perfected this month. She loves to play the standing game with Mummy; Mummy will hold stand her up in front of her, and then let go and she will stand there until she breaks and falls into Mummy's arms laughing! Lately, she's gone from just a couple seconds to standing there for up to 10 seconds or more!!! She knows what we want her to do! Plus, she always wants to "wa-wa" everywhere, and can do it just holding one hand, not both....woo hoo Violet!

And she is even so confident at getting up on her own two feet that she likes to go up the stairs "knee-knee" style on her own. Here's a pic of her little pudgy feet on the stairs at Grandma/pa's house last week where she was first testing this skill......and has brought it home to our Normandy home now! Finally, one more thing that Violet is really doing a lot of lately.......the "tilted head in her hand" game that she plays at dinner. You just have to look at her and she'll get this goofy grin in her high chair and tilt her head into her hand and laugh at you, waiting for you to do the same!! She's such a silly monkey - and every time Mummy tried to get a picture, she would stop! But here's a few versions of it....she straightened up a bit, but you get the idea. She is a total goofball and has that spark in her eye! But beware - the spark can turn into tantrum at times!!! Just this past week, Violet spent 40 minutes wailing, crying and rolling on the floor, kicking her feet and her head as she was upset Mummy had to pick her up at Erin's house and take her away from the water table!!! Wow-ee, it was quite the little fit....even I got a little scared! One thing we know for sure about our Vila - she KNOWS what she wants and she will let you know when she's not happy!!!! Gotta appreciate her conviction and independence (Mummy says it reminds her of herself!)
