Sunny Shell-filled Sanibel!

Family vacation time!  Yippee - a whole week off with our Mummy and Daddy and guess what?  We lucked out - they took us somewhere sunny, with a beach, and a pool, and an ocean, and palm trees, and ice cream, and shells!!!  Lots and lots of shells!  We went to Sanibel, Florida (an island off the coast of Fort Myers, for those who want to look it up) - and had a great time. Here's a family shot of what we were doing most of the time - hanging on the beach, enjoying the sun, surf and sand.

First off, we stayed in a great condo where we had a HUGE living room, our own bedroom seperate from Mummy and Daddy's, our own bathroom, and a balcony too.  Plus, a pool right outside.  Pretty suite...uh-hem, sweet!

We bought a whole bunch of groceries - including some treats like some really really yummy huge chocolate chip cookies - and had breakfast in our condo each morning.  Eggs, pancakes, toast - whatever we wanted.  Bonus, the shopping strip had a playground, so we got in some critical swing time as well!

Another bonus.....we didn't have to clean up our mess each morning - they had some people come every day to do our dishes etc.  That's the best type of cooking to do according to Mummy - make a mess and go out to play, every day!

We left our condo on our first morning and headed down the pretty pathway past the pool to the beach - it really was so pituresque (a big word, I know, but I am 4.5 you know!)   We had our buckets and were ready to shell it up!

Violet got right in there by the water with her pink bucket, and I spent some time analyzing my finds.

Before long, it was sunset, so we strolled some more together - did you know you could walk the whole length of the island from one end to the other all on the beach??  We didn't quite go that far though.....

And look.....on our very first day, I found a heart shell!! We thought it was pretty special so Mummy took a picture - maybe I'll put in on my bedroom wall at home to remind me of sunny shelly Sanibel.

Much more to come....so keep reading and we'll catch you up on what to do in Sanibel, it really is a great family vacation spot.  For now, off to get the sand out of our feet and off to our private bedroom, hee hee.....Love Audrey and Violet xoxo
