Hunting Down Monster Biggies!

One of the big parts of our trip was shelling....and hunting down MONSTER BIGGIES!  Mummy has been telling us about this for a while - she hunted down Monster Biggies with our Auntie Holly when she was a kid.  What are Monster Biggies you ask?  They are BIG shells - at least as big as your hand we said.

We started the day early in the beautiful morning sun - holding hands with Daddy.  Such a beautiful day.

To give you an idea of how many shells there are (we think Sanibel is the shelling capital of the world!), here's a close-up of all the shells we see under our feet every day.

It wasn't long before we found a few good ones - and it was exciting!  Look at how happy I am!!  Vila showed off her first Monster Biggie, and then it was my turn too!

Of course, Mummy wanted to get in on the action too - she couldn't resist helping us out with our search, she was so happy for us.  Memories of shelling past - come back to life!  We think this could become a tradition for us all!

Aside from shelling, there was a lot of other fun beach stuff....like the water!  Mummy is a bit of a water baby, she loved sitting in the ocean.

For Vila and I, we liked wading, but we loved sitting on the beach for snack time too.  Yogurt covered pretzels and raisins, yummy.

Playing catch with Daddy was also fun - we had almost the whole beach to ourselves.

And finally, a little artistic shot of the pink sand pail.....definitely came in handy for all our shelling and sand shovelling (one of Vila's favourite things).

And still, much more to come from our vacation - for now, off to do some more relaxing at the beach!  xoxo Audrey and Violet
